Westat has a new opportunity available for a Tax Accountant. In this deadline driven role, your initiative and problem-solving abilities will be key as you help the Corporate Controller in the preparation of information necessary to complete Federal, State Local, and international taxes as well as to act as the main liaison with outside tax advisors and consultants.
Job Responsibilities:

• Compile, analyze, and review financial information used to prepare S corporate income tax returns.
• Assist in the preparation and/or review of corporate federal, state, local, and foreign income tax returns and required periodic payments of estimated taxes.
• Prepare and file all monthly and periodic non-income tax returns including, but not limited to, sales and use, GST, personal property, unclaimed property, gross receipts and other miscellaneous taxes.
• Research and respond to internal and external inquiries.
• Serve as the main liaison with external tax accountants and advisors for responding to inquiries and gathering of information in order to ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of various returns
• Perform international, federal, state and local tax research and assist in tax audits.
• Responsible for responding to all international and domestic tax notices.
• Support various special projects and assist with ad hoc tax assignments as needed in all areas of tax, including assistance with research & development studies, oversight of the fixed assets tax ledger, tax notice correspondence, etc.
