What you’ll be doing...
As our Benefits Reporting Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the preparation of the employee benefit plan filings with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), the Department of Labor (DOL), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) as required by their respective rules and regulations.
Preparation of audited financial statements and Form 5500s for all benefit plans sponsored by the Company, such as Savings, Pension, Health & Welfare plans and Master Trusts, in accordance with the U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) and ERISA.
Preparation of the SEC Form 11-K for Savings 401(k) plans’ financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual footnote disclosures related to employee benefits for Forms 10-Q/10-K as well as the Management Discussion and Analysis.
Work autonomously to develop solutions to complex accounting / disclosure issues and make recommendations to management.
Work independently to address and resolve questions raised by the external auditors.
Develop and maintain relationships with individuals across the business as needed to resolve accounting and reporting issues and open items.
Lead discussions with Accounting, Legal, Treasury, Human Resources and other key stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting of results.
Monitor and evaluate US GAAP, SEC, DOL, IRS, and PBGC disclosure requirements to ensure ongoing compliance with all filings.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Certified Public Accountant.
Knowledge of US GAAP, SEC, DOL, IRS and PBGC employee benefit requirements.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field or six or more years of benefits accounting and/or auditing experience in defined benefit, defined contribution and health and welfare benefit plans.
Proficiency with the SEC, DOL, IRS and PBGC electronic filing applications (wDesk, efast, FIS Relius Government Forms, IRS FIRE, PBGC My PAA).
Ability to meet strict deadlines in compressed time periods.
Experience in a large ERP environment.
Working knowledge of the complexities of a large global company and ability to operate within a matrix environment.
Demonstrated strong analytical, communication and project management skills.
