It all begins with you. Enterprise Finance drives financial management for the company and maintains and enhances risk and financial controls. Key functions within Enterprise Finance include finance and accounting; Treasury; corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions; Data Management and Insights, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, Enterprise Shared Services, Business Process Management, and Corporate Strategy. Enterprise Finance informs shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, employees, and leaders of the company's financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines. They also maintain and enhance risk and financial controls and lead many of the company's shared services functions including corporate properties, security, and global services. CONTROLLER'S GROUP The Controller's Division is responsible for the Company's financial statements, establishing corporate accounting policies, preparing SEC and regulatory reports and ensuring the adequacy of internal controls. The Division also manages and supports the Company's General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets systems. The Enterprise External Financial Reporting function is responsible for ensuring the overall accuracy in report production across US regulatory and SEC reporting. The Enterprise Financial Reporting team is in a state of rapid and dynamic change with the intent of excelling amongst our peers in performance and structural efficiency. The Financial Reporting Strategic Initiatives team is part of Enterprise External Financial Reporting and will be instrumental in achieving this goal. Financial Reporting Strategic Initiatives is principally responsible for automating US regulatory reporting production processes. Primary responsibilities include ensuring that strategic initiatives are organized, communicated proactively, involve all necessary stakeholders, and are executed effectively in-line with firm-wide initiatives as it pertains to automated regulatory report production. These responsibilities culminate in the development of an instrument level regulatory reporting system capable of generating regulatory reports on an automated basis. A leadership role supporting significantly diverse and complex functional areas related to external financial reporting requirements. A position that manages and executes large, complex external financial reporting (SEC, regulatory reporting, and statutory) requirements and communicates and provides strategic consultation to senior leaders throughout the organization. Leads stakeholder development by maintaining ongoing interaction that increases their awareness, understanding, accountability, and engagement in the reporting process. Directly or through others responsible for large initiatives in regulatory reporting matters affecting FP&A / RRRP / capital forecasting. Leads and directs accounting technical regulatory capital and regulatory reporting guidance. Actively participates in the Company s coordination of the regulatory reporting reviews performed by US Federal Banking and Broker Dealer agencies. Leads implementation of complex projects/initiatives affecting one or more lines of business. Understands and ensures compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and works with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives. May interface as a liaison for regulatory reporting issues with both internal and external audit staffs, as well as banking and broker dealer regulators. May manage a team of consultants or cross-functional/virtual teams in accomplishing goals.Role Description This is a new leadership position that will direct significant portions of the project driving reporting transformation within the Enterprise Financial Reporting Automated Regulatory Reporting team. The EFR Automated Reg team is responsible for the development of a system and reporting logic, which will result in the accurate automated production of significant regulatory reports such as the FR Y-9C, FR Y-14Q, and FFIEC 031/041, among others. The successful candidate will be an experienced leader, highly motivated team player and a self-starter who is accustomed to working in complex organizations, partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders, and driving results. The candidate should demonstrate executive presence and be accustomed to presenting material to senior level executives and regulatory agencies. The candidate should be flexible, be able to withstand challenges and adapt accordingly. Specific responsibilities of the role
Report Transition: drive the transition of reports into the AgileREPORTER tool Data Warehouse Preparation: Drive preparations for connecting the future centralized data warehouse (multi-year project) to the AgileREPORTER tool. Report Reconcilement: Determine methodology and framework to facilitate the efficient reconcilement of automated reporting to current production and strategically resolve anomalies. Review and Data Approval: Review data mapping created in support of report production and opine as to the appropriateness of use in the production of automated regulatory reports. Strategic Planning: Identify system of record (SOR) inconsistencies and data gaps that could affect reporting capability, address with team members and report owners. Report Automation: Direct significant portions of the implementation of the regulatory reporting tool, and identify areas for consolidation of manual inputs. Coordination of report owners with controllers: Coordinate throughout the various business lines as well as accounting operations, mapping and technology teams. Support of Report Owner responsibilities: o maintain line of sight into end to end processes used by report owners o understand and challenge reporting results to ensure data accuracy o understand and coordinate capture of data resulting from report instruction changes o partner with support groups (Technology, Governance & Oversight, Data Management & Insights, Change Management, and Regulatory Technical Interpretations) to improve the control environmentAs an Employee Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics or reporting
- 2+ years of management experience
Desired Qualifications
- A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting
- Ability to successfully operate in a complex and matrixed environment
- An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Management consulting experience at a top-tier consulting firm
- Experience with Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA)
- Knowledge and understanding of Vermeg's AgileREPORTER software
- Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory reporting: Federal Reserve, OCC, and SEC
- Knowledge and understanding of corporate governance, financial reporting systems, legal entities, and role of regulatory authorities
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with Agile methodology of project delivery
- Product knowledge in a combination of the following: (loans, debts, derivatives, securities, repurchase agreements, securities lending, commodities, cash equities trading, credit trading securities, etc.)
