Pratt Institute is seeking an organized and detailed-oriented Senior Staff Accountant who will be an integral part of the Controller's Office team and will have the responsibility for the maintenance, reconciliation and accounting of the Institute's investment, endowed funds, restricted scholarship accounts and fixed assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of key general ledger account reconciliations, monthly, quarterly and annual close process. This position will promote maximum fiscal responsibility, safeguard the Institute's assets and ensure compliance with established accounting standards. Key Essential Duties include the following:

• Manages the accounting and reconciliation of Pratt Institute's investment accounts for endowment funds, annuity contracts, and other investment vehicles. Includes the monthly journalizing of investment income and expense activity.
• Manages the accounting of the endowment and temporary restricted scholarships.
• Maintains Institute's endowment software, Fundriver. Includes the monthly reconciliation and file uploads of all endowed gifts. Calculates annual endowed earnings. Reconciles database with general ledger and Advancement office records (Raiser's Edges).
• Coordinates with the Advancement Office to ensure accuracy of all endowed and restricted scholarship accounts.
• Performs monthly analysis of the Institute's fixed asset capital accounts to ensure accurate reporting. Prepare all necessary journal entries for fixed assets additions, deletions and transfers. Prepare quarterly depreciation journal entries.
• Assist in preparation of audit working papers and coordinate flow of information with external auditors as it pertains to areas of responsibility.
• Maintain accurate and timely accounting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
