We are looking for a Tax Supervisor who will be responsible for assisting in overseeing sales/use taxes and managing our indirect tax team.
What You Will Do
Motivate a highly qualified staff and provides the staff with required training, guidance, and growth opportunities.
Working with business units to assist them in determining the U.S. sale tax treatment for customer proposals, projects, and invoices.
Working with customers and customer care to assist in setting up multisite contracts to ensure the various locations are properly set up and all applicable exemption certificates are loaded to ensure invoice is properly generated with the correct sales tax by site.
Researching and determining sales/use tax treatment and working with customers and business units to assist in clearing sales tax discrepancies on sales invoices.
Managing sales tax email box includes notices, customer or vendor requests, and internal business unit requests.
Assisting Tax Manager with implementation and maintenance of tax system to ensure we are optimizing the automation of tax determinations and system is operating as expected.
Assisting Tax Manager with the coordination and completion of United States sales and use tax audits, including the accumulation of audit data and assist with the negotiation of audit settlements.
Assisting in the development and maintenance of accurate sales/use systems and procedures based upon GAAP, State Law, and Rockwell Automation financial policies and procedures.
Filing/Reviewing refund claims.
Reviewing sales/use or property tax returns.
Skills You Have
Strong business and financial acumen
Strong technical, research, and analytical skills to assist in the taxability of sales and use transactions
Solid PC skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools
Unquestioned ethics and integrity
Ability to think and act independently and objectively, prioritize, organize and make decisions on a timely basis
Strong people management skills
Strong written and oral communication skills - fluency in English
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
5-8+ years sales tax experience, must include research
Legal authorization to work in the US is required- we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, nor in the future
Public accounting experience
SAP and Vertex experience
