Description: Ranney School seeks a new Business Office Associate to start May 3, 2021. This position reports to the Comptroller, and works closely with the accountant. This position will interact with administrators, staff, faculty, parents, and alumni in a variety of roles with professional judgment, discretion, diplomacy, confidentiality, and good humor. Administer all purchase orders, invoices and check processing. Support other areas of the business office as listed below.
Manage all aspects of the Accounts Payable cycle, including annual preparation of 1099 forms and fiscal year-end audit procedures
Assist in personnel functions by coordinating/reviewing independent contractor vs. employee status
Administers Business Office petty cash
Record entries to charge other departments for transportation, food service, etc., as directed by the Comptroller.
Track capital expenditures, and provide appropriate supporting schedules to the Controller
Track budgets by department and review for appropriate expenditures prior to processing invoices
Prepare audit schedules, as they relate to Accounts Payable/Fixed Asset Acquisition
Support summer programs and rental activities
Sorts and distributes business mail and correspondence, as needed.
Posts revenues by recording checks, credit card, or other payment transactions
Provides information by answering questions and requests from visitors and colleagues, and troubleshoots issues with vendors or customers.
Support Enrollment and Accounts Receivable area during peak times.
Other duties as assigned.
Integrity, ethical conduct, and professional discretion is key for this position.
Experience in an educational or other non-profit setting a plus
Must be comfortable with technology including but not limited to Google Apps and Microsoft Office, and be willing to continue learning about new technology that increase collaboration and productivity
Knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Blackbaud or similar system) is a plus Proficiency in placing orders and researching via the Internet
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, multi-task, and manage a varied workload
Superior communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
