The Accountant II reports to the Accounting Supervisor and is the liaison between Tri-County and all construction contractors. This includes but is not limited to entering vendor invoices, monitoring contractor contracts & bids, reviewing vendor AR Aging schedules and communicating with Operations for invoice approvals. The Accountant II is responsible for managing the A/P for all TCEC contractors, knowing the status of all unpaid, materially large, invoices and making sure that all contractors are paid accurately and timely.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage the relationship between Tri-County and all construction contractors.
Enter all contractor invoices into the Accounting Software, with accuracy and timeliness.
Review contractor contracts and bids to ensure that Tri-County is billed appropriately.
Review contractor AR Aging Schedules to verify that A/P is being paid accurately and timely.
Communicate with Operations personnel to obtain invoice approvals.
Communicate to management the status of open A/P balances for all contractors.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, preferred.
Experience with Accounts Payable, preferred.
Basic Microsoft Excel.
2-3 years accounting experience.
Experience with ATS/Meridian, preferred.
Experience with the electric cooperative industry or the construction industry, preferred.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language fluently.
