About the Department UOB Venture Management is a leading private equity firm that manages a family of funds in excess of S$1 billion. Through our headquarters in Singapore, and our offices in Shanghai and Jakarta, we provide financing to unlisted companies via direct equity investments. Job Responsibilities Candidate will join a fund administration team and be expected to support our Principal Fund Managers, who are administratively responsible for the operations and investment portfolio of funds managed by UOBVM. The support expected will involve fund-related administration, fund accounting, valuation and investor relations, as necessary.
Fund-related administration would range from fund establishment, onboarding investors and KYC checks, to capital calls, distribution of capital, cash management, tax and regulatory filings, convening investors and board meetings, preparing and distributing reports. Where external service providers such as fund administrators are appointed, the candidate will liaise and coordinate with the external service providers to ensure that service standards are met and reporting requirements are done in a timely fashion. The candidate will also need to prepare or provide the necessary portfolio information to UOBVM Finance & Admin team to meet statutory, regulatory, and group reporting requirements, as appropriate.
Fund accounting would entail maintaining fund portfolio schedules, prepare or review management accounts of funds, and facilitate internal audit and year-end external audit.
Valuation work involves the initiation of quarterly valuation exercise, in which input from the investment teams on each investment asset is collected, and valuation schedule reviewed.
The candidate may also be required to assist the Principal Fund Manager in investor relations matter as and when they arise.
Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent qualifications, or accounting degree
8 to 10 years of experience in administration or operations for the financial services sector, particularly Private Equity, Asset Management or Fund Administration
Attention to detail, meticulous in reviewing documents and is well organised
A self-starter and fast learner who is able to multi-task, is resourceful and is focused on delivery
Good interpersonal skills, able to work independently or as a team leader or as part of a team
Good verbal and written communication skills (in English & Chinese to handle Chinese speaking market if needed)
Proficient in Microsoft Office
