Wiseda Corporation is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant in its corporate Accounting Department. The position reports directly to the Controller and reviews the work of one full-time Bookkeeper.
The individual selected must be able to prepare and maintain financial and business transactions for multiple corporate and personal entities, applying accounting principles to work that is analytical, evaluative and advisory in nature, and must possess a thorough understanding of accounting theory and practice.
Liaise effectively with non-financial constituents on financial accounting and reporting deliverables, issues and process improvements.
Maintain and review all accounting ledgers.
Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts to supporting documents/systems.
Prepare reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and brokers statements.
Prepare the recording and reconciliation of intercompany transactions between multiple companies and individuals.
Prepare financial analysis of selected accounts and recommend operational improvements.
Prepare tax schedules and tax workpapers. Recommend changes in processes and operations based on changes in tax laws.
Maintain procedures manuals and recommend changes due to improved technology.
Administrate and monitor the month, quarter, and year-end closeout accounting schedule.
Prepare state tax and annual report schedules on a timely basis.
Commit to keeping up-to-date with technological and professional developments to add value to the company.
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, math, business administration or a related field. CPA a plus.
4-6 years of general accounting experience, either in a public accounting firm or a private corporate environment.
Tax return preparation experience a plus.
Solid communication, organizational and analytical skills. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with accounting software and programs: Microsoft Office; QuickBooks; Excel – intermediate to advanced level; Sage Asset Management system or other FAS software, NetSuite experience a plus.
Excellent computer skills working with multiple systems and using Excel to move data from one system to another.
Ability to focus on the fine details without losing sight of the big picture.
Previous supervisory experience a plus.
Prior experience in real estate, oil and gas, and a Family Office with home company and control/affiliate groups helpful.
Must be a non-smoker.
