The Accountant will support the Business Office Operations. Position reports to the Business Manager. The Accountant performs accounting functions such as preparing and entering adjusting entries into the General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations for Local Funds and Assists with Local Statement preparations. Other Duties include preparing and data entry of Deposits. Performs account analysis and reconciliations. Assist in the preparations for Year End Schedules and/or Attachments. The Accountant performs work accurately and maintains accurate records and documentations per strict compliance with Federal, State, VCCS. College laws policies, guidelines and deadlines as documented and assigned.
Graduations from High School or equivalent. Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Systems and Spreadsheet applications. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement. Prior experience with Accounting work. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word. Excellent Customer Service Skills with External and Internal customers. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
