The Financial Analyst maintains the existing financial and capital model and supports enhancements and new builds of the model. The financial and capital model are key systems in our capital decision making, revenue and earnings guidance, budgeting, and board reporting. The position supports the development, accumulation, and evaluation of key elements necessary to report the financial position of the organization. They work closely with peers across the organization and external partners to gather all relevant data required as part of day-to-day activities. The role requires knowledge of accounting, reporting, financial modeling, and analytics.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and enhance driver-based, auditable financial planning and capital models and integrate these into operating practices of the Company, working closely with peers in other business areas (including sales, operations, marketing, corporate finance and accounting).
Support the monthly reporting processes by gathering required data and collaborating with business owners to determine and affirm assumptions and key benchmarks.
Collect, analyze, and present financial information (including preparation of board of director presentations).
Provide transparency and ease of access to plan-to-actuals and forecast-to-actuals information.
Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the organization.
Analyze trends in key performance indicators, and performance vs. peer and industry benchmarks, identify key business risks and opportunities.
Champion best?practices and assess process improvement opportunities that drive productivity.
Provide support and review of the Company’s presentations to analysts and investors.
Perform ad hoc responsibilities, as needed.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field (accounting, finance, economics or other quantitative discipline) or equivalent experience.
2 years of financial modeling and related experience.
Accounting/finance/valuation background; experience reading and interpreting financial statements. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Masters degree a plus.
Advanced user in MS Excel including Excel Add-ins and proficient in PowerPoint, SQL experience and VBA macros a plus.
Ability to proactively gather and synthesize data from internal and/or external sources, and to guide the analysis of complex issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and skilled in preparing effective summary analysis and presentations, with clear narrative and impactful graphics.
Ability to innovate and implement planning technology and tools as well as working knowledge of business intelligence solutions and experience with reporting solutions.
Experience as a Finance business partner with an understanding of how managers use financial and operational information to make better business decisions.
Highly self-directed and curious with an enthusiastic approach to solving complex problems and attention to detail.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and sound business judgment.
Organized and detail oriented with ability to manage financial processes and the capacity to implement control procedures while driving continuous improvement.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment while delivering on tight deadlines.
