What you’ll be doing...
You’ll be part of the International Accounting & Reporting team based in the International Headquarters in Reading UK. This team is responsible for P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting to the US Head Office, along with the accounting for Leases, Central Accruals and Inter-company. The team also controls the accounting and statutory reporting for the three main UK holding companies. As a key member of the team, you will use your expertise and knowledge to not only complete the responsibilities of the role but to look for improvements in processes and savings in time and effort, to provide accounting advice to the wider International Accounting team and support colleagues. Responsible for the monthly preparation and reporting of key financial statements.
Responsible for EMEA Central Accruals.
Responsible for several EMEA US GAAP adjustments.
Responsible for the preparation of the several International accruals and reporting schedules for distribution to senior leadership.
Responsible for the SOX EMEA Central Close process and testing the SOX EMEA Local Close process.
Supporting the EMEA External Audit process.
Supporting Finance Transformation focused initiatives within EMEA and involvement across International.
Interacting with key stakeholders outside of accounting.
Reviewing and enhancing processes such as monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, and assisting with researching differences.
Ensuring adequate controls are in place over financial processes and results.
Ensuring compliance and adherence with controls for internal policies and external regulations.
Identifying opportunities for systems and process improvements and working closely with internal teams to ensure improvement opportunities are implemented.
What we’re looking for...
You’ve got accounting expertise, you’re great at meeting tight deadlines, working as part of a team or individually, providing advice and researching improvements to processes and tasks. You are comfortable managing data from multiple systems, describing complex accounting concepts and working well across multiple functions both in EMEA, Internationally and with the US.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related experience.
Professional accounting qualification/newly qualified/finalist – ACA, CIMA, ACCA CPA or equivalent.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for European countries or IFRS.
Understanding of FASB, SEC requirements, SOX compliance and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Knowledge of accounting systems and applications such as SAP, Analysis for Office CPM/Essbase, and Blackline.
Experience working within a multinational company.
Even better if you have one of the following:
Experience in a European language other than English.
Strong computer skills utilising Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
Big 4 Accounting/Advisory/Audit experience.
Demonstrated Shared Service Center experience.
Experience in running continuous improvement projects, and conducting root cause analysis.
Experience gained whilst working in the IT or Telecommunications industry.
Experience in using Marcos, SAP Scripting, Robotics or other digital techniques.
