The Role Responsibilities Transaction Banking Standard Chartered is a major player in Transaction Banking, combining deep local knowledge and global capability to offer the full scope of innovative, customised solutions in trade finance and cash management. Transaction banking is an integral part of Corporates & Institutional Banking. As a top three global trade finance bank - we are a key driver of Corporates & Institutional Banking aspirations. Transaction banking services clients in over 85 markets and contributed $2.8b to bank's operating income in 2020. Role & Responsibilities: The Head of FP&A, TB is a trusted partner to the TB CFO and critical member of the Global TB Finance Team in supporting and driving performance management of the TB Business. This role is the central point of contact and liaison for the Global TB Finance Team with Regional Finance counterparts, CCIB Finance, Group FP&A as well as investor relations on all performance management related matters for TB Globally. Performance Management and Business Support:
Responsible for full spectrum of the core reporting suite and performance management processes for TB business including monthly flash and forecasting process, weekly and monthly management reports, annual planning exercise, management business reviews as well as ad hoc business requirements.
Lead the annual Corporate Planning process for TB, including targeting setting for products and segments across the 5-year plan period, liaising with regional and client coverage finance teams to ensure alignment and delivery of financial targets.
Drive a robust and accurate flash and forecasting process across P&L and Balance Sheet, ensuring quality of inputs as well as consistency of formats, definitions, and methodologies across regional teams.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators, across various dimensions (Product, Segments, Geography, Currencies) in line with business strategy, to shine a light on performance against business plans and provide insights into opportunities and risks to drive performance.
Implement insightful deep dives across revenue, costs and balance sheet drivers to provide enhanced financial transparency and understanding of levers to maximize business returns and capital usage.
Deliver thought leadership through regular peer performance reviews, market and competitor benchmarking analysis.
Provide strategic business support through complex financial modelling, scenario and sensitivity analysis to enable management decision making.
Work closely with the TB CFO to conceptualize and deliver high impact, executive-ready analysis and presentations.
Functional Discipline and Partnership:
Drive and maintain strategic scalable performance information management infrastructure via Tableau to deliver timely and quality MIS and analytics to support business needs.
Support the finance activities relating to business realignment and restructures including change management and restatement of financial and management reporting, corporate plans, scorecards, reporting structures, and financial systems as well as tracking and reporting of cost synergy achievements.
Champion the TB Finance Change agenda by spearheading key initiatives to drive a "Best-in-Class" finance function with a specific focus on reports simplification, centralization and standardization.
People and Talent
Support the TB CFO in setting team priorities and initiatives, adopting an 'agile' approach to book of work management and prioritization, tracking team commitments and deliverables towards the collective goals.
Ensure BAU processes offshore are robust with sufficient four eye checks, supervision, back up and succession planning in place to ensure accurate and timely deliverables for TB Finance.
Lead the training agenda for TB Finance team, both onshore and offshore, to drive a high-performance culture and continuous development mindset for TB Finance.
Gatekeeper to team agenda across various team meetings to ensure timely knowledge sharing and optimal team engagement.
Guide, inspire and motivate the TB Finance offshore team, investing in their growth plans to ensure that each individual achieves their potential.

Our Ideal Candidate
10-13 years relevant experience in Performance Management or Financial planning and analysis, gained in financial services/banking sector
Qualified Accountant, with degree in finance or economics; MBA/CA or other post graduate qualifications
Prior experience and exposure to Cash Management and Trade Finance Business, with relevant product knowledge.
Exceptional visualization and storyboarding capabilities, with strong ability to translate complex information into impactful executive-ready presentations.
Strong analytical skills, using advanced quantitative techniques and modelling tools, with ability to conceptualize and develop proof of concept frameworks, scenario analysis and business cases.
Proficient in MS Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI). Super user and mastery of finance systems and reporting tools like MRC, PMI, OBIEE, Tableau, Workbench are a must.
Demonstrated track record of leading and managing broad processes, while challenging the status quo and embracing the spirit of transformation.
Proven problem solver, with ability to effectively navigate the organization, influence stakeholders and resolve challenges across different matrix of the organization.
Team player who facilitates the sharing of knowledge, looks for opportunities to grow others, develop talent, give clarity and guidance, drive purpose, and work collaboratively with others in the team.
Ability to work effectively and independently, under tight deadlines with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills, with ability to engage senior stakeholders, providing advice and independent challenge at a strategic level.
