The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing financial statements and reconciliations for corporate entities. The staff accountant will also assist in accounts payable and receivable processes and supporting projects for process improvement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Review General Ledgers and make journal entries
Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and follow up on unresolved balances
Analyze Income and Expenses for each department and assist in answering questions and preparing reports for department heads
Prepare Reports from multiple accounting systems: MRI, Nexus, Billquick, Concur
Assist in audit preparation
Backup on Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable Process
Assist in Treasury Management processes
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
At least three years of experience in a corporate accounting or real estate accounting role
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Acceptable accounting practices and principles in a corporate accounting or real estate environment
Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting deadlines and following up on assignments
Advanced Excel skills and accounting software report writing
Communicating with internal staff, vendors, and clients to give and receive information in a courteous manner
Applying logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks; understanding and interpreting policies and procedures
Organizing and maintaining supporting documentation to allow for rapid retrieval
Aptitude for learning computer programs
