The Tax Analyst position supports the team members with the preparation and the review process of domestic and international corporate and partnership direct tax filings as well as preparation and review of indirect tax compliance. The Tax Analyst will be exposed to all areas involving tax globally, organizational re-structures and management of service providers. In addition, the candidate will perform preliminary research on tax legislation for Federal and State purposes for direct and indirect tax matters.
Prepare work papers and support filing of the sales & use tax returns, business tax returns, property tax returns, gross receipts for monthly, quarterly and annual filings.
Compile member information for the preparation of corporate and partnership income tax estimates, extensions and tax return.
Prepare supporting documentation and provide assistance during state audit examinations for direct and indirect taxes.
Prepare supporting work papers for Escheat compliance.
Process quarterly Federal and State tax estimated payments.
Support tax department’s Month-end and Annual closing of the General Ledger for local and consolidated purposes.
Prepare tax accruals and reserves, reconciliation of tax and equity accounts and recording of journal entries.
Prepare indirect taxes work papers for third party service providers to file VAT / GST / Consumption tax returns.
Prepare work papers to support international direct and indirect tax audit reviews. Compile information to assist third party providers on all audit reviews’ requests.
EDUCATION & SKILLS NEEDED
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MST and/or CPA a plus.
Minimum of 2-3 year experience in Tax and/or Accounting; Retail industry a plus
Excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of SAP and Vertex a plus.
