The Senior Accountant - Contracts and Accounts Receivable will be a key contributor to the School of Medicine finance team.Â They will be responsible for accurate, timely, consistent financial reporting over the revenue cycle of SLUCare.Â They will also be responsible for monitoring an effective internal control system over financial reporting for the revenue cycle.Â The Senior Accountant - Contracts and Accounts Receivable will partner with School of Medicine Department Business Directors and Managers to provide accurate financial statements to support their clinical and administrative operations.
Supports the Manager of Financial Accounting, Director of Financial Planning, Reporting and Analytics and SOM CFO in the maintenance of accurate, complete, timely, SLUCare financial reporting over the revenue cycle and revenue related financial information.
Works directly with Department Business Directors and Managers and faculty leadership to interpret revenue trends.
Prepares presentations for executive management detailing the revenue performance of the organization.
Prepares monthly revenue journal entries.
Prepares month end revenue and receivable account reconciliations.
Prepares special revenue financial reports for School of Medicine Administration as required.
Assists in special revenue projects as requested and communicates status of projects.
Responsible for AAA contract revenue; ensuring all change order forms have been incorporated into Workday; review and analysis; makes adjustments as necessary.
Works with Clinical Departments reviewing and preparing quarterly income guarantee allowance.
Reviews long outstanding receivables on a monthly basis with departments.
Prepares analysis of contract receivable allowance for doubtful accounts on a quarterly basis to review with leadership.
Monitors SLUCare Finance Customer email account.
Reviews SSM outstanding receivables with SSM on a bi-weekly basis.
Prepares of all fixed contract SSM monthly invoices.
Reviews department's submission of customer contract invoices.
Launches IDX file during month end close to record IDX transactions into Workday.
Adjusts Allowance Rates and runs allowance in Workday.
Sets up in Workday all types of SLUCare revenue.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong technical U.S. GAAP revenue recognition accounting knowledge
Understanding of revenue cycle processes and ability to identify risks and use data to assist with accurate financial statements
Knowledge of Workday, Power BI, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Tableau and business objects are preferred
Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization
Ability to accomplish results and effectively prioritize initiatives across units amid competing priorities in a complex multi-mission organization
Ability to determine recognize areas of process improvement and assist in implementing new processes and procedures over the revenue cycle

Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in business, accounting, or finance; supplemented with five (5) years general accounting and/or budgeting experience.
