Internal Audits at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as an Internal Auditor. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2021.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Internal Auditor provides independent appraisals of University functions as a service to the Board of Regents and management personnel. This position directs and performs a comprehensive program of internal auditing within the University. The Internal Auditor prepares audit plans, designs audit and review programs, and conducts compliance and operational audits, reviews, and special examinations. The incumbent is responsible for reporting the results of audits, reviews, and examinations and assessing management corrective actions. The Internal Auditor also assists the External Auditor and the Director of Accounting and Budgetary Control in the annual examination of financial statements.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a major/option in accounting. Minimum of three years of experience that demonstrates knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor designation is required. Ability to prepare complex audit reports. Effective communication skills. Must establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated ability to learn applicable federal and state laws and University policies and procedures related to audit areas, and conduct electronic data processing audits. Experience with fund accounting practices and electronic data processing audit procedures. Experience with higher education accounting practices.
