The Division of Finance seeks applicants to fill its opening for Bursar. The Bursar is responsible for ensuring compliance in all areas of responsibility with federal and state guidelines and institute policies for the billing, collection and accounting of tuition, on-campus housing, student fees, and various auxiliary charges. The Bursar directs the operations and the integrity of the Institute’s student financial accounting systems and ensures maximum cash flow through accurate and timely billing and collection of student receivables.
Candidates will have, at least a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Candidates are also expected to have 5 or more years of related and progressively responsible experience and must include at least two (2) years of supervisory, project leadership, or other similar management experience, along with experience with automated financial management systems
Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements.
A Master's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
Candidates with experience in a college, university or Higher Ed setting are preferred.
Working knowledge of Banner or a similar ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system are especially desired.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong analytical, organizational and management skills as well as demonstrated success in managing a fast-paced, customer oriented operation
Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations
Knowledge of cashiering and cash management principles, systems, procedures, and standards.
Ability to plan, organize, implement, and administer complex recordkeeping systems and procedures.
Knowledge of accounting and accounts receivable principles, methodology, and practices.
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
Ability to evaluate and re-engineer operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
Ability to plan, assess, and evaluate programs.
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Business Hours: Monday - Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work required.
