Prepare bank reconciliations and journal entries. Reconcile all bank accounts (operating, A/P, student refunds, payroll, etc.) • Monitor prepaid assets and deposits and maintain the monthly roll-forward schedule. • Validate and record all month end accrual entries. Coordinate booking the monthly accruals and monitor the accrual activity and impact on the departments. • Review charge back entries ensuring that they balance. • Review system assurance reports and ensure that the accounting system is in balance. • Review transactions and ensure proper application of policies and procedures. • Reconcile petty cash and clearing accounts. • Process and reconcile all interfaces to Banner Finance. • Approve NCAA expenses to ensure proper accounting and reporting. • Completion of month-end, year-end and audit schedules and analyses. • Preparation of reports including audit and Athletic reports. • Assist with the month-end closing process.
Minimum two to three years of accounting experience including preparation of reconciliations, analyses and journal entries. • Knowledge of integrated financial accounting systems. • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, organizational, and presentation skills. • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Knowledge of Banner and related systems a plus. • Demonstrated evidence of detail-orientation, customer service orientation, ability to work independently, and great levels of responsibility required. • Ability to travel between locations required. • Strong communication and team skills.
