The Compensation Accounting team at Millennium handles all compensation related expenses for the firm. This group partners with Trading Management, Human Resources, and Legal on the management of trader payouts, core compensation and firm deferred compensation. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for handling payroll for all of Millennium’s U.S. entity. You’ll also be preparing month-end closing for the management company, including the booking of journal entries, performing various reconciliations, and other compensation-related procedures. Ideally, you will be motivated to take on strategic projects to help increase efficiencies, while also having the poise and confidence to liaise cross-functionally, be it with senior management.
This position demands an analytical approach to problem-solving, as well as outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills. It requires you have a keen eye for detail and able to deliver in a fast-paced, demanding environment while remaining calm under pressure.
Responsible for preparing month-end closing for management company, including the booking of journal entries, performing various reconciliations, and other compensation-related procedures
Focus will be on compensation accounting, including but not limited to: agency fee calculations, expense allocations, deferred compensation processes, trader payouts, compensation analysis and automation of various processes
Coordinate and implement reporting/analysis to senior management that adds value/impact to overall business streams and lead initiatives to automate and streamline reporting capabilities
Oversee certain compensation-related processes and projects/initiatives
Interaction with various other departments including HR, legal, middle office, IT, trading teams and business heads
Ad-hoc projects as needed
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a 3.5+ GPA preferred
3+ years of experience in a Finance or Accounting Role (e.g., preferably public or private accounting background with hedge funds or private equities)
Excellent analytical and communication skills (both oral and written) required.
Ability to multi-task as well as meet timelines in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and client service skills; good team player
Proven analytical skills and judgment – strong attention to detail
