Senior Accountant - Mergers and Acquisitions and Technical Accounting
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Type: Full Time
A Senior Technical Accountant at Sovos is a key player in our M&A activity. Growth is very important here at Sovos and about half of ours comes from the acquisition of new companies (the other half is organic) all over the world. You will play a key role in the integration of these new companies - making sure that they are seamlessly and efficiently rolled into our business and accounting process. It’s a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of growth in a global organization. You will also be responsible for assessment of technical accounting matters, including post-acquisition purchase accounting, integration, and revenue recognition. You will interact closely with members of the finance, corporate development and legal teams, along with independent auditors to ensure accurate reporting and full compliance with all external standards. You will also have the opportunity to assist in special projects and process improvements.
More specifically, you will:
Apply a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
Direct post-acquisition accounting, including purchase accounting and other integration related activities
Act as a resource for determining proper software revenue recognition during accounting integration for complex and/or non-standard contracts; this includes applying an understanding of the order to cash process and implications on systems integrations
What We Need From You:
Expertise with NetSuite, with Advanced Revenue Module
Working knowledge of Salesforce preferred
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly Business Combinations and ASC 606 revenue recognition
Strong Excel skills
Spanish speaking is a plus!
Due to federal contracts – successful candidates will be asked to clear a background check and drug test prior to hire
