This position provides transactional and administrative support to the departments and programs in assigned department.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Initiate/review purchasing transactions. Process travel advancesÍ¾ review supporting documentation and submit travel expense reports on a timely basis. Review and process Procard transactions for approval. Process internal and external invoices.
Provide entry and reconciliation support for annual budget process. Monitors account balances, maintains open encumbrances, process journals and budget adjustments.
Work with HR/payroll coordinator to ensure accurate entry and maintenance of HR data for faculty, students, postdocs, and staff.
Prepare financial, budget and general reports, as requested.
General office support.
Perform other duties as assigned.
College coursework and three yearsâ™ related experience.
Experience in higher education administration.
Experience with Washington University systems
Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal.
Ability to learn new software systems and technology skills.
Ability to integrate information from multiple sources, utilize creative thinking, and exercise considerable judgment and resourcefulness.
A self-motivated individual; ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy, and consistency; meet deadlines with varying degrees of pressure; possess a strong work ethic and determination; be detail-oriented.
Experienced in Microsoft Office software
Experience with Workday systems
Mastery of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
General knowledge of fund accounting.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
General knowledge of fund accounting.
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification plus at least two years experience/knowledge in basic accounting and/or personnel/payroll.
Demonstrated ability/willingness to enforce HR, payroll and grant regulatory requirements with faculty and staff.
Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and quick learner.
$17.83 - $27.64 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
