The Sr. Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for management of all FIA revenue cycle activities to include; reconciliation, reporting, invoicing, collection, and customer relationship functions for all FIA & Affiliate global revenue streams. In addition, the position will manage FIA product renewals, review applicable processes to improve procedures, support the accurate reporting of AR balances monthly, review / initiate refund requests and other exception items, and support external audit needs.
Revenues & Accounts Receivable
Manage revenue accounting activities to ensure the accuracy of FIA & Affiliate General Ledger including reconciliation, reporting, and exception handling
Manage the annual renewal processes for FIA membership dues, documentation library and CCP Risk Review. Liaison with Member Services to ensure billing is done accurately and timely.
Create and maintain financial spreadsheets related to tracking revenues from ongoing revenue sources as well as one-time initiatives.
Become an expert user of the Member Management software (Aptify) & the Intacct accounting software to manage the FIA, invoicing & collection processes
Execute processes to ensure the timely collection and resolution of all invoices for membership, conferences, Documentation Library, CCP Rulebook product, and other miscellaneous revenue streams
Run and update schedules to support FIA revenue recognition, including reconciling balance sheet accounts as needed
Ensure our billing contacts are accurate and updated for all customers
Serve as backup when necessary in regard to posting cash receipts, credit card receipts, wires and bank deposits
Create and maintain excellent transaction level process documentation and records in support of internal procedures and audit requirements
Manage the subsidiary ledger monthly to identify refunds payable and ensure timely resolution of transactions
Educational and Other Qualifications
Finance or Accounting Degree, or commensurate relevant education and experience required
3+ years of experience in a corporate revenue accounting environment or commensurate experience required
Proven communication skills with experience in customer service environment
Familiarity with Intacct accounting or similar software preferred
Aptify database system or similar membership management software knowledge preferred
Proficiency with MS Office desktop software (Excel, Word, Outlook or similar)
Detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills able to work well with the accounting team and subject matter experts within our affiliates
Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize timelines, meet deadlines, and respond to customers in an expedient, patient manner
Reliable and punctual with work schedule and in meeting deadlines
