Leaf Group is looking for a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to join us.
You will be responsible for: advising leadership on corporate accounting aspects relating to the operations of our Company, supervising key areas during the month and quarter-end accounting close cycle, managing the accounts payable and payroll departments, managing the consolidations process, assisting in financial reporting matters, coordinating external and internal audits, and driving process and control improvements.

You’ll Report To: VP, Controller
A typical day might include:
Manage complex accounting processes, accounting transactions, and account reconciliations for key corporate areas during the month-end accounting close cycle.
Manage the entire consolidations process on a monthly basis.
Oversee and manage the Accounts Payable and Payroll departments.
Assist in the financial reporting process on a monthly basis.
Provide support to the Holding Company and Senior Management in regards to the preparation of the Company’s financial information.
Work with internal and external auditors for all compliance-related items and requests.
Manage and coordinate the SOX process with the Holding Company.
Assist with tax-related matters.
Continually evaluate accounting procedures, processes, and systems for improvement in order to gain efficiencies and ensure accuracy and completeness.
Oversee and manage a team of highly motivated, result-oriented individuals through effective leadership practices, while maintaining a high level of performance.
Meet and establish team goals and provide progress updates to leadership on all major projects.
Prepare and present various ad hoc analyses as requested.
You’ll be successful if you are self motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented.

What you have::
Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field or applicable experience, CPA required.
Minimum of seven years of accounting experience with a minimum of three years of management experience.
Big-4 public accounting experience strongly preferred.
Proven expertise in applying technical accounting to actual results, a track record of managing teams, being able to handle large volumes of transactional data, and the ability to step back and look at the big picture.
Possesses experience in engaging, growing, and developing teams with a passion for being a role model, making a difference, and doing the right thing.
Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills, excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail and follow through.
Advanced knowledge of Excel required, plus working knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs.
Must show accountability, be proactive, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive matters.
