Invest endowment gifts received with the UNC Charlotte Investment Fund (UNCCIF).
Prepare quarterly reconciliations of UNCCIF investment transactions, allocate investment activity to participating members, and record this activity in UNCCIF and each participating member's chart of accounts.
Assist with the annual review of endowment balances and calculation of the Endowed Spending Distribution.
Prepare annual audit schedules, reviews, and monthly reports on funds as requested. Assist with the preparation of the combined endowment report and donor reports.
Prepare, process, and review complex journal entries ensuring accuracy, proper support, adherence to both donor restrictions and accounting standards.
Reconcile multiple bank and investment manager statements.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate's degree in accounting; or Associate's degree in business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a four-year college or university including 12 hours of accounting, or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of accounting concepts and GAAP, financial statement preparation, and audits evidenced from degree held (minimum of 12 hours of accounting) and relevant work experience.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Detailed reconciliation and reporting experience.
Demonstrated ability with complex journal entries and working with large amounts of data
Experience applying internal controls, fiduciary responsibility, implementing process improvements, and process documentation
Ability to reconcile bank and investment statements
Organized, detailed, reliable, critical thinker that works well with teams and independently
