Working with contacts across the organization, the Intermediate Accountant is responsible for various general ledger processing, including preparation of journal entries, monthly reconciliations, schedules for audit, insurance, budget and tax support, and collaborating with outside departments. This position works on a combination of standard tasks as well as some more nuanced month end journal entries and reconciliation
Prepare journal entries and related reconciliations.
Process routine and non-routine financial transactions (e.g. fixed assets, billing, payroll).
Communicate with customers (peers, SCCA department managers, SCCA Partners and affiliates, etc.) to resolve accounting issues and share and gather information.
Independently identify, research, and resolve issues within assigned work.
Bachelor's degree OR 4 years experience in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 2 years experience in finance or accounting
Minimum 2 years experience in conducting monthly/yearly financial statement close processing
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
Strong attention to detail, follow up regularly, prioritize and ability to independently perform complicated and multiple tasks with minimal direction.
Able to identify and resolve routine and complex problems.
Excellent and pleasant oral and written communication skills by email, phone and in person.
Comfortable communicating with both a technical and non-technical audience.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
Master's Degree, MBA
Active Washington State CPA license
3 to 4 years of experience in finance or accounting
3 to 4 years of experience in conducting monthly/yearly financial statement close processing
Experience with the financials suite of PeopleSoft applications.
Experience with EPIC software.

The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance was incorporated in 1998 as a separate, jointly governed non-profit that included the cancer programs of three partners. Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a cancer treatment center that unites doctors from Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Medical Center, and Seattle Children’s. The purpose of this organization is to provide state-of the-art patient and family centered care; support the conduct of cancer clinical research and education; enhance access to improved cancer interventions; and advance the standard of cancer care regionally and beyond. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Northwest, and according to the National Cancer Data Base, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance patients in general have better survival rates than patients treated at other cancer treatment centers.
