Lead the accounting policies and processes for the Universitys cash and short-term investments, student accounts and loans receivable, deferred revenue, fixed assets and debt. Ensure timely reconciliation and resolution of reconciling items. Provide related internal and external audit deliverables. Support Treasurers Office for deliverables of annual rating agency presentations and issuance of new debt. Manage the Universitys Asset Management policies and procedures and ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance and University policies. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and serve as subject matter expert for implementation.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Accounting or related degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree Accounting or Business Administration.
Required Experience: 5+ years related accounting experience including experience with operational analysis, development of policies and procedures, and staff supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience with accounting practices within a higher education environment or non-profit organization.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Certified Public Accountant license. Excellent analytical and communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines and pay attention to detail. Interpersonal skills needed to lead others and work effectively within teams. Ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
