Job Title: Staff Accountant
Department: Finance & Admin
Salary Range: $40k to $55k, based on qualifications and experience (Targeted 10% bonus)
Location: Remote: Preferred States: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Michigan, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin.
As the Staff Accountant, you will play an integral role by supporting TraceGains’ general accounting initiatives by performing monthly account reconciliations, submitting and distributing monthly reports, reviewing and entering invoices, and creating and maintaining journals, ledgers, and other records. You will utilize your knowledge of accounting principles to take an initiative and expand your skills in all aspects of accounting. Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) activity (set-up new customers/ monthly invoicing/ collecting on accts/ contract renewals / collection emails)
Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) process (enter vendor bills, use RAMP/Bill.com to control employee spending)
Prepare month end journal entries
Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations as needed
Support entries to general ledger accounts
Manage vendor and customer accounting inquiries
Use Avalara to collect and report sales tax
Fixed Assets- maintain database of our assets for accounting and tax purposes
Process (Type-1099) forms for vendors
Verify accuracy of invoices and other accounting records
Enter data into NetSuite ERP system
Software Subscriptions- maintain a database of company subscriptions and their renewal dates
Provide accounting support for special projects and ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary
File and organize all documents
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance
0-2 years of general accounting experience preferred
Knowledge and understanding of GAAP and accrual basis of accounting
Self-starter comfortable working and taking initiative in a fast-growing company
Innovative problem-solving skills
Team oriented attitude with the ability to focus on individual priorities
Flexible mindset and ability to change priority as needed
Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Proficient computer application skills to include Microsoft Excel, word, and database management
Ability to be a positive team player, willing to grow and change
Food & Beverage and Supplements industry experience a plus, but not required
Ability to be a positive team player, willing to grow and change (standard, keep)
Accounting related certifications or starting to pursue certifications
