Under the administrative direction of the manager, support the accounting and administrative needs of the department.
This position may require travel to various offices across multiple campus locations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Provides support to the Customer Accounts receivable department. Responsibilities include recording deposits, applying payments to customer accounts, and other operational support.
Shares responsibility for processing daily bank transactions including ACH transactions, wire transfers, internal bank transfers and foreign drafts.Â Responsibilities include:
Reviewing requests for completeness and required approvals, maintaining records, and investigation of returned or problem wires.
Keying and approving daily ACH transaction, wire transfer, and foreign drafts utilizing banking software.
Provides general administrative support, including but not limited to:
Maintaining calendars and schedule meetings
Mail distribution, copying, faxing, ordering supplies, filing, coordinating repairs to office equipment, setting up equipment for meetings
Processing accounting department transactions
Backing up other administrative assistance within Financial Services as needed
Other University Accounting related duties as assigned.
College degree, business or vocational school.
Accounting or bookkeeping experience is a plus.
Excellent customer service and communications skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent grammar, punctuation, spelling and proofreading skills.
Service-oriented communicator who is a true team player actively invested in the mission of the department ensuring its goals are met.
Strong organization and follow up skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to manage high volume workload efficiently.
Ability to exercise judgment and take corrective action.
A self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
High school degree with a minimum of 60 semester hours of college including 12 hours of accounting; or high school plus four years expense in administrative and accounting support positions.
Strong PC skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks under deadlines.
Experience processing transactions in financial systems.
$19.56 - $30.35 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
