MANAGER OF PAYROLL OPERATIONS, ACCOUNTING, AND TAX, Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF), to act on and resolve complex issues related to payroll operations and be responsible for supervising, training, and developing Payroll Office staff. Will oversee the development and implementation of process and system enhancements to meet the needs of the Institute.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field; at least seven years of experience in financial operations, including accounting and account reconciliation; at least four years of management experience leading accounting or financial operations teams while delivering exemplary customer service; expert-level knowledge of accounting principles and relevant federal regulations, including those specific to research and nonprofit organizations; advanced-level knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, payroll, and accounts payable operations; excellent analytical, project management, problem-solving, organizational, consultative, team-building, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills; discretion, tact, and good judgment when working with sensitive and confidential information; collaborative working style and ability to build interpersonal relationships and achieve consensus; and excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Seek a hands-on, detail-oriented self-starter who is able to drive, manage, and ensure the timely delivery of multiple priorities, projects, and assignments; work collaboratively with team members; produce work that is accurate and meets all deadlines; and deal effectively with stressful or high-pressure situations in a high-volume environment. PREFERED: experience with SAP and database applications; experience in higher education financial operations; and master of business administration (MBA), master's degree in a related field, and/or certified public accountant (CPA).
