General Statement of Duties: The Staff Associate, Grants and Contracts Accountant is responsible for all the accounting activities related to the management of grants, contracts, sponsored, and internal programs. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Fiscal Affairs/Comptroller, the incumbent interacts internally with the Office of Grants and Sponsored Research as well as with deans, department chairs, principal investigators, department business administrators, the Office of the Provost, the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education, and externally with sponsoring agencies', program managers, and other contacted agencies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, monthly account reconciliation, program financial reporting and analysis through the projects accounting module, high-level accounting tasks, financial data analysis, budget assistance, preparation of internal and external financial analysis including ROI and accounting reports, and reconciliation of expenditures with general ledger activity including monitoring and tracking costs. The incumbent will ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, grant agency, and university regulations, laws, and policies, thereby minimizing liability for the university regarding compliance matters. They will be a self-starter, working well both independently and as a collaborative team member across departments and divisions within the university.

This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, professional APA position. The firm starting annual salary range for this position is $50,000 - $65,000, commensurate with relevant professional experience and education.
