Associate Administrator, Finance - (220000SO) Department of Medicine University of Maryland School of Medicine The Department of Medicine in the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) seeks an Associate Administrator, Finance. The Associate Administrator, Finance will serve as the Department's chief financial officer. The Department of Medicine provides state-of-the-art patient care and improving treatment through clinical research and education. Within the Department of Medicine, there are 13 Divisions that provide high value care by adhering to evidence-based medicine, implementing population health management and multi-disciplinary medical care. Department of Medicine faculty provide inpatient consultation, attending services, ambulatory services and procedures in 26 locations throughout the state of Maryland. The Department of Medicine has trained physicians of the highest caliber, including more than half of the physicians currently practicing medicine in Maryland. With 340 full-time faculty members and over 400 staff, the Department of Medicine is the largest department in the School of Medicine and is responsible for the training of 140 residents and 90 fellows. Our current active research funding exceeds $190 million, over half of which comes from NIH and other federal agencies. With nearly 100 funded investigators, the department has an extensive research base in both the basic and clinical sciences. Our research training programs are extensive and include basic, clinical and translational research training awards. Reporting to the Senior Administrator and Chairmen of the Department of Medicine, the Associate Administrator will oversee budget and projections, financials, all funds budget and contract finances. The Associate Administrator, Finance will collaborate with the leadership of the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) as well as relevant departments and divisions, University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) both downtown and Midtown campuses and University of Maryland Faculty Physicians. Primary Duties: Education: Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration and/or related field. Master's in related field preferred. Experience: Ten (10) years of accounting, budgeting, auditing, assessment of Internal controls, or financial analysis experience with at least five (5) years in a college, or university accounting environment in a management position preferred.
Supervisory Experience: Five (5) year of direct management involved in recruitment, training, and professional development of staff.
Certification/Licensure: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Financial Manager (CFM), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred.
Other: Annual financial disclosure required by Maryland State law.

Approximate Hiring Range: $185K to $200K (Commensurate with education and experience)
