As a part of the Resource Development office, the Foundation Accountant provides fiscal stewardship of college gifts, scholarship funds, and Bluegrass Community & Technical College Foundation, Inc. (BCTCF) restricted and unrestricted funds. This position reports to the BCTCF Executive Director.
Provides accounting management for gifts and scholarship funds, including creation of accounts, monitoring expenditures, preparing journal entries, recording and confirming revenue, monitoring accounts for corresponding transactions, and identifying and addressing issues in the gift and scholarship accounts.
Confirms that all transactions are made in accordance with rules and approvals pertaining to each funding source. Ensures compliance with KCTCS policies and procedures for college gift accounts.
Responsible for the organization of the BCTCF's accounting in QuickBooks.
Prepares BCTCF financial statements quarterly for BCTCF board meetings in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Establishes new budgets, monitors budget allocations, revises existing budgets, and provides input on annual gift budget.
Assists the BCTCF Executive Director with providing support to the Finance/Audit committee, including the annual audit.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field) and two years of related experience, or equivalent.
Knowledge/proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
