DESCRIPTION
Involves accounting functions such as analyzing, monitoring, preparing and reconciling financial information to reflect the condition of the organization and provide financial and other statistical data to control operations. Provides support for monitoring/maintenance of accounting systems and chart of accounts.
The incumbent independently prepares journal entries, maintains and/or reconciles general ledger accounts, utilizes and applies accounting practices and standards in the completion of work assignments, prepares ad hoc analyses/financial reports/spreadsheets as requested. This will include accounting assignments that require complex financial analyses and review of data from a variety of factors and multiple sources.
Also may involve preparation of financial reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements. May include activities relating to developing, implementing and monitoring accounting systems, policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Seven (7) years of related accounting experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training.
Experience with and knowledge of accounting functions and theory regarding general ledger accounting, complex chart of accounts tools and automated general ledger utilization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Large business accounting experience and/or Health care system accounting system experience.
Strong analytical skills, experience in application of analytical techniques and procedures used in accounting projects of moderate to semi-complex scope.
Experience with Oracle accounting software.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, such as the utilization of Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.
