The Financial Accountant II, under direction, performs complex professional accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain training and complete in a timely manner. Use FAMIS, USAS and Banner for employee clearance review, assist with insurance questions, reconciliation and maintaining the university's state holds. Daily communication through email, phone and departmental voicemail.

• Provide customer service to customers by way of telephone calls and email using MS Outlook. Provide information and assist students that owe balances to the university with information and the set up of payment plans.

• Prepare and process invoices for student third party and departmental billing using Banner, FAMIS, and Excel. Reconcile and maintain student accounts. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Apply and write off student receivable and departmental receivables. Evaluate receivables to determine those no longer collectible. Handle retiree insurance billing.

• Provide customer service at services window to students, parents, employees, and vendors regarding questions on student bills, insurance, 3rd party billings, invoices, refunds, direct deposits, etc. Using Banner, FAMIS and USAS. Assist as needed during high volume times.

• Interview students and determine their eligibility to receive a short term student loan. Process the paperwork and enter loan information into student accounts.

• Serve as backup for review of ACH transactions. Assist the Assistant Director on special projects and billing follow-up.

• Preparation of tuition and fee submission to state. Completed required documents and confirmation of received statement.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelorâ™s degree in an applicable field.

• Two years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Oral and written communication skills.

• Customer service skills.

• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
