The Senior Financial Internal Auditor is responsible for performing financial and operational audits, SOX 404 compliance relating to financial/accounting and business process internal controls in accordance with the Annual Audit Plan. This position provides counsel and proactive advice concerning new and existing processes, initiatives, and services regarding financial and operational process controls.
This position is remote-hybrid. Our ideal candidate will need to be located in South Carolina or Georgia
What you will do to contribute to the company's success
Initiates and reports internal financial and operational audits, consultative evaluations, and special project reviews in accordance with the Internal Audit Department Annual Audit Plan (the “Plan”) for various Cable One departments.
Assists the Internal Audit Director and management with the SOX 404 Compliance Process, including the SOX risk assessment, process documentation, control design, and operating effectiveness testing with a focus on financial accounting/business process.
Prepares audit programs, work papers, audit reports and related documentation, and correspondence in accordance with Department standards.
Communicates audit findings and opportunities for improvement to management.
Assists the independent registered public accountants with SOX and audit-related activities from a financial and operational controls standpoint as applicable.
Acts as a department liaison to various Cable One departments and committees.
Updates and monitors department historical files with audit results as necessary.
Mentors, coaches, and reviews the work of other staff-level internal auditors on specific financial/business process audit assignments as applicable.
