The Accountant, Senior Staff is a key player in the preparation of monthly financial statements and is responsible for the preparation of complex journal entries and provides insightful analysis of monthly activities and fluctuations. This position is also tasked with various other complex duties requiring thorough examination. It is expected that this position has a strong, working knowledge of basic to complex Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and applies that knowledge on a daily basis in all job duties. In addition, the Accountant, Senior Staff is an independent worker, with strong analytical skills, and exhibits the following traits: highly motivated, utilizes conventional and unconventional methods to solve problems and takes ownership of issues.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Preparation of complex journal entries
Preparation and analysis of complex balance sheet and bank reconciliations
Analysis of complex account activity and preparation of related financial statement footnotes
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles commensurate with accounting functions
Work closely with the team to ensure that financial reports are well designed, coding is being done properly and results can be explained and analyzed in detail to company leadership
Some or all of the following:
Preparation and filing of various government reports
Preparation of various incentive compensation payments
Preparation of invoices for intercompany activities/services
Bank reconciliation(s) for affiliated entity
Preparation of annual budget for affiliated entity
Work on other adhoc, accounting-related tasks and projects, as assigned
Be at work and be on time
Follow company policies, procedures and directives
Interact in a positive and constructive manner with colleagues, affiliates, leadership, and providers
