As part one of the safest and most trusted financial institutions, the BNY Mellon Legal department mitigates risk and handles legal affairs to ensure the security of the company and its clients.
Position Summary: SOX Compliance and Controls-Internal Controls over Regulatory Reporting (SCC-ICRR) roles are responsible for the oversight, development, and monitoring of internal controls over regulatory reporting in compliance with corporate objectives, regulatory standards or government directives. The SCC-ICRR team operates as an independent testing team focusing on assessing controls, evaluating data integrity and ensuring conformance with instructions over regulatory reports.
Key responsibilities: - Supports senior team members in the execution of the Internal Controls over Regulatory Reporting assessment program, in providing thorough and reliable identification of in-scope reports and locations, planning, testing, documentation, and reporting of the effectiveness of regulatory reporting for delivery to the senior management and external committee
- With minimal guidance, assesses business processes, identifies control deficiencies and recommendations, and prepares workpapers and documentation to support the assessment
- Supports more senior colleagues by tracking the status of deficiencies; reviews remediation by process owners and delivers reporting findings to SOX leadership and management
- With some supervision, helps to provide support for the integration of internal controls into regulatory processes and systems to senior level management and regulatory reporting groups
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 5-7 years of total work experience preferred.
- Experience in public accounting, SOX testing, financial services or shared services is preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is preferred.
- This is hybrid mole role.
