The Property Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day financials of 7-8 properties.
The position is a full-time, regular, non-exempt position.
The position reports directly to the Accounting Manager.
Completes journal entries for accruals and reclasses as directed by Property Managers.
Works directly with onsite team to ensure accurate financials.
Prepares monthly financials and all supporting schedules.
Completes bank reconciliations and researches cash items.
Responsible for the cash management for property, including payments for mortgage, tax, and partner distributions.
Manages the monthly replacement reserve and capex funding.
Tracks and reports capital project budget.
Completes general accounting tasks for multifamily assets.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred; two or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience and knowledge of GAAP.
Advanced computer skills with accounting software, industry specific technology including Yardi, and using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and various other computer applications.
