Job Summary:
Will oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of assigned staff, and provide timely and accurate data reports, analysis, forecast, and rate studies to management. Works well and effectively communicates with all levels of personnel and follows UTAs Principles of Community, and complies with Federal, State, System, and University Reports to Assistant Vice President of Business Affairs.
Essential Duties:
- Manage and direct the daily operations of Reporting, Forecasting, and Rate Study Reviews to ensure the completion of accurate and timely executive reports to management.
- This includes supervising, instructing, developing/training, and evaluating staff.
- When required, correct personnel deficiencies, recommend and implement corrective actions and discipline.
- Actively participate in System-wide committees which include use and integration of technology best practices as well as new GASB pronouncements as the UTA representative.
- Develop, implement, and maintain department procedures from staying abreast of requirements and best practices for forecasting, reporting, internal controls, GASB pronouncements, and the federal service center's rate.
- Provide problem-solving assistance that is related to established procedures.
- Review, coordinate, and prepare reports timely, detail analysis, USAS entries, and processes for compliance with State and Federal statutes and laws and accounting principles, UT System rules, policies and procedures, University procedures.
- Recommend innovative solutions to enhance best practices for effective and efficient processes. Assist supervisor in establishing, implementing, and overseeing goals, unit effectiveness plans, performance standards, and other initiatives.
- Coordinate and respond to internal and external audit inquiries and reviews related to areas of responsibility.
- Work with and assist other areas within UTA or Higher Education such as bench-marking; responding to inquiries, compiling, or reviewing financial information.
- Monitor financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting and internal control standards. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Annual Financial Reports
- Monthly Financial Report
- Monthly Forecasting
- Annual Service Center Rate Study
- IPEDs
- Cost of Expenditure
- Texas Guarantee Tuition Program
- Ranking surveys
- Unrelated Business Tax
- Rate Study Calculation and Review
- Other reports as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Business/Finance, or a similar business-related degree.
- Four years of experience within an accounting role including supervisory experience or the equivalent, preferably in a higher education institution.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess excellent computer and software knowledge and skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Higher education institution. PeopleSoft experience. Proficiency in the analysis of financial data. Certified Public Accountant.
