Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for complex accounting duties which may include ensuring the overall processing of all journal entries, analysis of data, preparation of management reports and financial statements, assists with audit prep and process, and account reconciliations in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Areas of responsibility includes: payroll accounting, cash receipts, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, grants, pledges, endowments, investments and gift releases. In addition, this position assists in documenting policies and procedures for the department.

PREREQUISITE: To be eligible for this position, you must have obtained a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or relevant field of study. Additionally, you must a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in higher education organization preferred.
Understanding and experience with GAAP accounting, cash management, financial statement preparation and analysis.
General accounting skills.
