Day to day management of the financial reporting function and team
Responsible for the financial reporting in accordance with UK GAAP accurately and within timelines, including Pro Forma Financial Statements and FCA/PRA reporting
Responsible for the preparation of the Half Year (interim) financial statements and Annual Report
Developing presentations and technical accounting papers to the Audit Committee
Developing and maintaining accounting policies for the Company and in ensuring compliance
Work closely with Group Finance teams (including Regulatory Reporting, Investor Relations and FP&A), Corporate Secretariat and business functions to deliver financial reporting
Develop and maintain a financial reporting risk register to ensure risks are identified, assessed and mitigated appropriately.
Develop staff in understanding the business, processes, performance of tasks, controls and risks. Drive process and system improvements (including ledger) to increase efficiencies in the financial reporting function
Provide support to the Accounting function to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and technical accounting requirements and to maintain internal controls.
Lead internal Financial Reporting function and provide assistance to both internal and external auditors on a timely basis in the performance of their audits and in implementing recommendations agreed by management
This role requires solid management experience and an excellent grasp of the insurance market. You will need to be a qualified accountant who has held a senior role in a non-life insurance business and understands the technical accounting aspects of an insurance finance function.
