Job Description
Directs and oversees the financial planning and decision support of the entire organization. In tandem with executives, senior vice presidents, physician leaders and other System leaders, develops financial plans that focus on the key strategies to enhance the financial well-being for this integrated health care system.
Directs and coordinates the internal and external financial systems, planning, budgeting, cost accounting, decision support for Children's Wisconsin and Health System entities. Serves as staff to the Senior VP and CFO and leads staff in all matters of financial planning, forecasting, business planning and decision support. Serves staff in all matters of financial management and other Children's Wisconsin financial matters which may require input, assistance or leadership.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant or Master's in Business Admiration preferred.
- Ten or more years of progressively responsible broad based healthcare experience.
- Strong financial and managed care experience as well as experience with government regulatory agencies and legislatures.
- Technical experience with relevant healthcare accounting systems, financial regulatory requirements, as well as experience in advanced management to direct and develop policies and budgets.
- Superior interpersonal skills necessary to develop relationships, interact and communicate effectively with the personnel, management, outside agencies, outside professionals (e.g. attorneys), the Board of Directors, and other departmental personnel.
- Negotiating capabilities to interact effectively with state representatives and outside regulatory agencies.
- Analytical ability to develop plans and creative problem-solutions, review recurring reports effectively and participate in the development of short and long range goals based on findings.
- Independent judgment necessary to make appropriate decisions during extemporaneous negotiations with regulators, bureaucrats, and outside contractors.
