Work Order Accountant

The role

The Work Order Accountant is a member of the Accounting Team and reports to the Accounting Supervisor. This position focuses on reviewing and tracking work orders through their life cycle, to ensure they are closed timely and accurately. A key component will be creating efficiencies and improving the work order process for all departments involved.

Key responsibilities

• Research and resolve issues related to work orders.
• Review and coordinate the work order process to include creating and running work order reports, monthly close of the work order module, analyzing and reconciliation processes and reviewing work order related invoices.
• Assist management with work order inquiries and research.
• Ensures all resources including time, materials, fleet usage, subcontractor cost and spreads are accounted for on each work order.
• Utilize iVUE to research inconsistencies in work orders and follow ups as needed.
• Assist in coordination, assigning and management of the work order process.
• Serve as a liaison between departments including but not limited to: Operations, Engineering, Warehouse, and Member Services.
• Confirm orders are correct and disposition incorrect orders before completing tasks or closing work order.
• Assist with work order related requests from auditors.

• Extensive knowledge of service/work order tasks and workflow
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
• Knowledge of internal service order and work order processes
• Skilled in monitoring and coordinating processes
• Skilled in utilization of Cooperative internal processes
• Skilled in time management
• Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers
• Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in writing

Key experience

• 3-5 years' experience with iVue software
• Minimum 2 years' customer service experience
• Construction accounting experience preferred

About Yampa Valley Electric Association

Yampa Valley Electric Association(YVEA) is a cooperative located in Northwest Colorado. We have two locations: one in Steamboat Springs and one in Craig. Today, the Association serves nearly 26,300 meters over 2,840 miles of line. The association's service territory extends east to the continental divide, south to almost I-70, north into Wyoming about 10 miles, and west to within 25 miles of the Utah border. The 7,000 square mile service territory includes the communities of Baggs and Savery, Wyoming; Craig, Hayden, Steamboat Springs, and Yampa, Colorado; and surrounds, but does not include the town of Oak Creek, Colorado. The Association is run by a Board of Directors. The member/owners elect nine individuals from the general membership to represent them as Board of Directors. Three Directors are elected each year on a rotating basis. Yampa Valley Electric owns no generation facilities. It purchases power from the Western Area Power Administration (a federal power marketing agency) and Xcel Energy. YVEA is located in beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
