We are currently hiring an accountant to join the Consumer Payments and Cash Accounting team. This team is responsible for the accounting and analysis of Expedia’s worldwide cash receipts and the various consumer payment methods arising from merchant transactions. This role will perform the cash application within the payment and settlement reconciliation system, research variances, and determine the correct treatment of any variance. The ideal candidate will be extremely detail oriented, a self-starter, comfortable working with many different currencies, and can handle a large volume of data.

What you’ll do:

• Daily reconciliation between cash payments and settlement reports

• Report on the status of the reconciliation system

• Research and resolve reconciliation issues

• Participate as needed in month-end processes, including preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations

• Work with various teams to provide data in support of statutory and/or financial audits worldwide

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience

• 1+ year of accounting-related experience, preferably in a large growth oriented international organization or high-tech company

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to analyze large amounts of data to solve difficult to complex issues

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to articulate clearly complex processes to audiences with differing levels of understanding

• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills including the ability to act as primary owner of individual projects, analyses or processes

• Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional network outside immediate group to ensure strong customer focus

• Ability to remain flexible in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
