The Senior Staff Accountant contributes to the overall success of the Finance Department by communicating effectively and candidly, closely collaborating with other members of the finance team and reporting upward to the Chief Financial Officer on all accounting functions. Success will be demonstrated through teamwork with the management team and employing action-oriented problem solving. This hands-on role ensures proper accounting procedures and controls, cash management, accrual entries and proper recording of all revenue and expense transactions, accurate payroll processing review and timely submission, and month-end journal entries properly completed. This role contributes to the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer.
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance, or related field is required
MBA or Master’s in Accounting preferred
CPA preferred
3+ years of accounting experience in healthcare (FQHC or Rural Health Center), hospital, preferred 5 years.
Demonstrated, hands-on skills and experience in preparation of cash flow analyses and budget variance analyses.
Demonstrated experience in working with accrual accounting,
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in finance roles with increasing responsibility, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in senior accounting or management position within finance/accounting
Proficiency in Quick Books, Sage Software, Excel and other Microsoft applications
Demonstrated experience in creation of custom revenue and coding reporting in an EHR system
Ability to meet communicated deadlines and schedules
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to communicate and manage at all levels within the organization are required
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based upon accurate and timely analysis
Strong problem-solving, creative, and analytic skills are necessary
Strong leadership experience with a proven track record of developing teams
Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen.

Coast Community Health Center was established in 2009 in Bandon, Oregon, as Bandon Community Health Center.
The health center is a non-profit rural health center founded by 65 vested community volunteers committed to providing an efficient, friendly, and caring environment for delivering high quality, affordable primary health care services for all Bandon residents and the surrounding areas.
The health center’s first clinic opened in 2010. In 2014, the organization adopted the name Coast Community Health Center, moved to its present, larger facility in Bandon, and opened an outreach office in Port Orford. The move reflects the organization’s expansion and makes more medical services accessible to Southern Oregon coast residents. Community involvement is the key to our health center’s ability to provide high-quality primary health care for all. Many of our founding volunteers have served as board directors and committee members. Our professional partnerships include medical professionals and governmental and health and human services agencies throughout the state.
