Job Summary:
Provide valuable financial support services to the University community and assists faculty and staff with various accounting needs. This includes setting up new cost centers requested from within the UTA community, as well as performing accounting duties related to accounting and reporting for general ledger accounts, state accounts and processing fund transfer entries, interdepartmental journals and various reconciliations. This includes month and year end entries, financial schedules, and reports.
Essential Duties:
- Set up New Cost Centers requested by UTA departments per internal procedures and NACUBO guidelines in university financial accounting system.
- Process inter- and intra-fund transfers, journal entries, and approval of journal entries for university.
- Assist with state appropriation reconciliations and reimbursement requests which includes accounting entries in UT Share and State Accounting System.
- Reconciling multiple bank accounts and other general ledger account reconciliations. This includes various journal entries, downloading financial data, reconciling outstanding & paid items, researching all outstanding issues, and recording entries for reconciling purposes.
- Responsible for annual cash counts related to working funds.
- Assist university community with accounting needs.
- Perform other duties as necessary to facilitate the university's financial processes and ongoing operations.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Three (3) years of experience in governmental or commercial accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office including MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of People soft Financials.
- Experience in Higher Education.
