Essential Duties
- Maintains and is responsible for the financial integrity of the Job Cost System and processes. Reviews, analyzes, and reconciles monthly profit margin to the general ledger. Reviews and analyzes Billings in Excess of Earned Revenue. Reviews journal entries, reconciliations and project analysis on a monthly basis.
- Prepares and reviews ad hoc reports and analysis as needed by Accounting, Management, and other departments. Assists in the preparation of the annual audit schedules.
- Assists in the development of departmental processes and accounting procedures. Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with business units, customers, and coworkers to promote a quality service image.
- Perform month-end job cost close. Assists with running weekly and month-end Job Cost processes. Prepares and submits monthly project billings to include both lump sum and cost plus projects. Prepares and submits all required reports for assigned projects – CIP reports, lien waivers, project audits, etc.
- Familiarizes Job Cost Partners with company rules, policies and procedures and ensures all are operating within company guidelines and according to state and local codes. Identifies impactful problems and opportunities. Probe sources for answers and finds effective solutions to complex issues.
- Assists with scheduling, assignment, and direction of the work of departmental staff. Involved in the hiring process and makes hiring recommendations for the department. Conducts timely, complete and meaningful performance management conversations while growing employee careers.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Team management skills.
