The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining workpapers and the timely preparation of account reconciliations to support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings as well as required SEC filings in accordance with the Company's close calendar. The position will also be responsible for interacting with external auditors to facilitate efficient financial audits and audits of the Company’s internal controls. This role is hybrid, with an expectation to work in the Yardley office on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and work from home on Monday/Friday.
Essential Accountabilities include:
- Prepares journal entries and various account reconciliations to support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activity in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Assists with and supports preparation and integrity of general ledger, including account analyses, account reconciliation, and review of controls governing data gathering process.
- Reviews accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations and makes correcting entries. Completes review of calculations and analysis of prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, fixed assets and other balance sheet accounts.
- Supports SEC report filings, such as Forms 8-K, 10-Q, and 10-K. Compiles 10-Q/10-K filing footnotes and prepares its supporting documentation.
- Assists with and coordinates requests for financial and internal control audits. Interacts and liaises with external auditors to provide requested information timely and help facilitate efficient audit/reviews.
- Assists with SOX 404 application and ongoing maintenance of Company’s system of internal controls. Creates and documents processes and procedures to ensure ongoing SOX compliance.
- Assists with technical accounting research efforts and researching/analyzing new and proposed accounting, reporting and disclosure standards issued by the FASC and SEC.
- Reviews and recommends modifications to the accounting systems and procedures. Assists with implementation of new accounting/finance tools and systems to improve efficiency and controls, as necessary. Participates in periodic testing of various financial systems.
- Supports Accounts Payable, as necessary.
- Assist with other projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required.
- CPA certification and public accounting experience strongly desired.
- 3-5 years’ successful track record of accounting roles of increasing responsibility, preferably including combined experience in public accounting and corporate accounting roles in a publicly traded company.
- Pharmaceutical/ life sciences industry background is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrates knowledge/application of GAAP and SOX compliance/related regulations required.
- Proficient with financial reporting tools required. Experience working within an ERP environment required. Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP software background is a plus but not required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables. Proficiency with other Microsoft applications including Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience in building/maintaining financial models related to responsibilities noted above.

- Ability to effectively prioritize work and establish and execute plans to meet tight deadlines.
