The American College of Physicians (ACP), a prestigious medical membership association for Physicians of internal medicine located in Philadelphia, is seeking a Staff Accountant II for our Budgets and Payroll department under the Director of Financial Reporting.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Accountant II with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel to join our team. The Staff Accountant II will assist in the coordination and efficient operations of the operating and capital budgets of ACP, ACP Services, and other affiliated entities under the control of the organization. They will coordinate the preparation of monthly reports and interact with other staff to answer questions and resolve issues. This is a hybrid role in Philadelphia, PA.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating the College fiscal year budget cycles.
- Prepare monthly statistical reports and documents for management review.
- Identify and report to management significant variances from budget.
- Provide guidance and answer inquiries on budget processes and procedures.
- Review documentation and provide answers to budget staff liaisons related to budget transactions.
- Assist in the coordination and proper use of spreadsheet design and application functions.
- Reconcile financial data as required.
- Participate in Budget Workgroup preparation and presentation.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 3-5 years of accounting related experience.
- Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of cost and management accounting concepts and techniques of financial reporting.
- Excellent PC skills required in a networked-based and customized financial reporting environment to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Sage.
- Ability to analyze data and compile reports and documentation for management review.
- Ability to coordinate budget activity and functions on a day-to-day basis.
- Ability to work independently in the monitoring and reporting of revenue and expense budgets for the College.
- Strong oral and written communication skills essential to communicate complex technical and complex information to all levels of staff.
